Beyond the 4 lane highways and the hustle and bustle of modern life, is a rare and beautiful place called the Florida Bay, the southernmost part of Everglades National Park. This is the only North American subtropical landscape of shallow sea grass beds, narrow channels, and mangrove islands. Imagine paddleboarding silently through a shallow bay surrounded by mangroves while being able to witness some of the greatest wildlife up close and personal. Enter this world with KeyZ Charters on one of our newest Eco-tours.
Since the islands are too far away for a just one days paddle, KeyZ Charters offers a boat assisted paddle tour out to many of these islands in the Florida Bay and Everglades National State Park. This Eco-tour is one of the most exhilarating and exciting of all of the tours we offer. Paddleboarding allows you to access the shallowest areas of the Florida Bay and get as close to the islands as humanly possible. The paddleboard is also a very quiet way to explore the shallow waters without startling the creatures living among the sea-grass beds. Animals that can be seen and are spotted often are Herons, Egrets, Ospreys, Stingrays, Sharks, Turtles, Dolphins, Manatees and many more. The opportunities are unlimited.
Our 21 foot deck boat is used to transport you comfortably and safely with our paddleboards to some of the most exclusive islands in the Florida Bay. Once at the site, the boards are launched and the exploring begins. The boards are extremely sturdy and glide through the water smoothly. There is no experience level needed to take this tour. Our staff is very experienced and willing to teach anyone from the novice paddler to the most experienced explorer. Your captain will join you in a guided paddle around and through these islands. With a guide that is a local and has a degree in Marine Biology, all of the wildlife you see will be identified and all of your questions can be answered.
