Windy Weather

March is usually know as a windy month. The saying "In like a Lion and out like a Lamb" is holding true for us here in the Florida Keys. Although we have no snow, the winds have been in the 15-30mph range consistently for the end of February and most of March so far. We are hoping for some calmer weather towards the end of the month. Despite the wind we have still had some fun back in the mangroves, looking for wildlife as well as snorkeling. The mangroves offer a calm shallow area to see thousands of juvenile fish in the roots.

Hi all,

We have had such a wonderful beginning to our nesting season here in Islamorada. The true original snow birds have nested and most of their eggs have hatched. It is very loud and full of commotion in our mangrove rookeries. Make your reservations for spring break soon, our date are filling up fast!
